Ok for some reason I see the connection icon 3.5G with two solid lines under it all the time. Why ????
I do not have any email accounts set up, I do not have widget requiring updates running, I checked the task manager and nothing is running, so WTF?
I also have connection set up to only as needed not when available.
Also sometimes I my phone beeps as if I got a new email, but I do not have any email accounts set up......:con?
Anywho any suggestions ? btw I have v11
Thank you in advance
I see this as well..I leave my Accuweather and Facebook Home screen widgets online all day...so I expect it is probably just Facebook that's keeping the line open as Accuweather seems to require manual refreshes.
I've checked my Log file for data transfer and it doesn't seem to be changing constantly so it probably just a small "keep-alive" communication if anything.
Of course, if you're paranoid...it might be law enforcement listening in on your phone checking for things. ;-v
About the beeps that seem to occur...I've noticed that when my phone (N97 NAM) changes from 3.5G to E, I seem to get a low single beep to indicate service availability. I also seem to get it when I swap from WiFi to 3.5G.
My battery life is fine as being on 3.5G with the double arrows most of the day doesn't seem to bring the battery down.
BTW....the standard email and SMS message beeps don't sound anything like the signal notification beep.

Now that u mentioned it.
Do you have anything like Fring, Nimbuzz or any IM/Social Networking programs running in the background? (hold down the menu button to see icons of everything running).
You didn't download any of those free java games from pirate/hacker websites did you? I always wonder about how those might be phone spyware.
Last of all...could your spouse/significant other put some cheater-catcher spyware on your phone?
