Well. so far the 5800 has been a lot of fun...no problems at all with the exception of lousy PC suite software which Nokia seems to have fixed with a rev I downloaded today. Upgraded my firmware to 21.2.025 tonight no problems at all.
However the phone came with some apps I wont use and I would like to get rid of them to free up C drive memory. They are the Nokia welcome, Global Race, and Bounce.
I can not discover how to remove these applications. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If they don't appear in Settings->Application Manager->Installed Applications then you probably cannot delete them.
However all of the above are probably tiny (JAd/JAR java files) and will not really affect internal memory usage that much.
Thanks very much for the info. No they do not appear.... Whats aggravating is that I would like to get rid of the desktop icons (is it really a desktop on a phone?) to try to un clutter things as much as possible. I m prone to run light and simple, being a Linux type.
As a total aside after having had the phone for around a month, I finally signed up for the Ovi store last night and browsed the apps there. It is to me prety disgusting at some of the prices and the lack of functionality. What else is annoying is that occasionally I would try to download an app and would get the "not available any longer" mesage when I would attempt to send it to the phone (I was browsing on the laptop, still have not quite gotten used to trying to browse on such a small screen). I have friends with new IPhones and I know comparisons are odious but their apps store seems much nicer and better organized..... both the IPhone and the 5800 however lack in my opinion and particularly for more experienced users, decent tools for administering the OS like most notably a file browser that will allow one to see the file tree. Additionally and even worse, in the IPhone, there is no central connectivity manager like their is on the 5800.
Ah well I ll shut up now. I like the 5800 very much and its the most sophisticated phone I ve owned to date....
Thanks very much for the information on the apps.

You could always create a folder and move all the unwanted items into that, thus hiding unwanted apps.
When the 'desktop' is displayed, press Options then select Organise.
