I love the Widgets, they rock! Here's to seeing many more, I have 2 questions.

1. What widgets do you use?
I've got Clock (given)

4 Shortcuts - Google Maps, Web, Photos, Music
Calendar - (Awesome, I haven't forgotten a thing since i got it!)
Top 4 Contacts
Facebook
Accuweather

2. Where can you redownload the widgets that come with the phone? I uninstalled AP and then reinstalled to the Mass memory (from Ovi Store) to clear some space on the C, but none of the other widgets are there and if you remove them they disappear!

I don't know where they might be available from.

Further, something that I've noticed is that user participation in this forum is from around the world...I'm in the US, many are in the UK, and there are a few from the Middle East and Africa.

With such geographic diversity, the time that it may take to get a response to a posting is on the order of 12+ hours.

Don't give up...we'd all like to know the answer to your question.

Wdigets I use on the home screen....

1 - Clock, given as you say, but this so cool, we take it for granted. On my wife's 5800, I went through the usual menu's to find the alarms and then set her alarms for her. Then I thought - I wonder if the touchscreen works like, errm, a touchscreen, and hey presto, such an easy way to access the clock, the same with profiles and even pressing on the date, takes you to the calendar. Those three are great.

Then two lots of shortcuts.
1 Messaging, Joikuspot, fring, world traveller
2 - Connectivity Manager, converter, video's, Nokia Maps

Then email client, configured to work with gmail

And then Accuweather, and News Buzz.

In terms of getting the original widgets, some of them are available in the Ovi store, free download, I know AP NEws is.

I did a hard re-set shortly after getting the phone and lost the Guitar Heroes game that came with it, if anyone knows where I can get that.....?

Mine are:

4 shortcuts
Accuweather
Facebook
Gravity (twitter)
email (using nokia messaging gmail)

I would LOVE to be able to have a 2nd screen on widgets for contacts, more shortcuts, RSS feed, music and calendar. Its a torment deciding what is the most important for my homepage.

I agree, would be very nice. You could put your most important ones on the first screen, and your secondary ones on the 2nd page.

Anyway my homescreen goes...

Shortcuts 1 - Messaging, Web, Maps, Gravity
Facebook
Calendar
Email
Music Player

I like Mippin's widgets. There's one for gossip, one for tech, one for gaming news, and one for normal news.

See them here: http://www.biskero.org/?p=3933

Other than that, I use Straits times news widget (downloaded from ovi store), APNews, Bloomberg, Facebook.

Naturally, I run out of space on the homescreen... so typically I have:
- shortcuts
- contacts
- calendar
+ 2 widgets that I fancy in the morning when I wake up.

yeah i think a wipe to a second screen would have been cool, or if not a wipe directly to the menu button, that's all set up for shortcuts

BTW Dave, the link to the Facebook widget works from this thread, but i tried the one on your site and just got an error

Thanks though 😊

Cheers for the info. Fixed it now.

Added a few more free apps today. Up to 43 now...

Starting to wonder if I should include free Java apps to bump the numbers, but I dislike the sluggish nature of java on symbian as a rule...

Hello!

I was using a Handy Shell on may previous phone (N96) and weather is with forecast as should be.
But on N97 accuweather is only current weather which I can see on the window...
Is any setting I've missed.

Milko

It only shows weather now on the homescreen AFAIK.

Clickthru will give you hourly forecast, 5 day forecast and high level 3 week forease - which is little more than guessing...
