Ovi Store (Fridgemagnets)?

Okay, to see just what eye candy is out there for the N97 I downloaded the application FRIDGEMAGNETS.

Just what is it supposed to do?

It puts apparently random letters on the screen and then every second or so moves one or more of them around.

You can move them with your finger or stylus but they then the program may move the ones that you moved someplace else.

Sometimes the random letters have no vowels, so you cannot spell anything.

Sometimes no letter tiles at all come up.

Sometimes the tiles don't move on their own at all.

Once the application even came up with nothing but question mark symbols.

The application shows the little whirling java loading logo in the upper left hand screen every second or so which makes me wonder--just what is it doing?

It also seems to take an inordinate time to load (considering the banality of the application), making me wonder just what is it doing--maybe sending your contact data to some website?

Well at least you got it to load and run....

I downloaded the free game - Speedtouch. Won't even start, keep getting System Error.

The Fridgemagnets application shares the same "fridge door" and letters over the internet with others who are using it. Other people are moving the letters around as well which is why you keep seeing them move. The whirling loading logo in the top corner indicates when it's communitating over the internet and loading the next placement of the letters.

You want to be careful with this application if you're not on a data plan or not connected to wifi.

I personally find it a bit pointless. If it was a fridge door, with letters you could add/remove/move at will, and it was private to your device, then maybe I can see some gimmicky appeal...

Just a follow-up observation on the Fridge Magnet application...

Why is it that the most repeated word that I've seen used in this application is "W-A-N-K-E-R"? I thought N97 owners would be a "cut above". ;-v

Once I had a nice conversation in this application--we had users from Italy, Eire and Denmark and it was quite polite.

It would be nice though to be able to add a letter or two to the mix to help with spelling.

I've tried to start convos with people but they just reply with obscenities and dribble. Doesn't help when there are words missing, preventing me from spelling out certain words.

Was a bit of fun when I first downloaded it, but now totally pointless...

...which reminds me...need to delete it😃
