Calibrate the N97 compass in just three seconds

You're right, it does! Excellent!

Question about the compass on the Ovi store. That seems to work as soon as you boot up the app and needs no calibration - why is this? Is it just that it responds to movement but isn't actually pointing in the right direction?

I thought about that so I installed both N97Compass and the Ovi store compass and they both gave the same results.

I kept the Ovi store one because the interface looked a lot nicer:tongue:

It DOESN'T work for my white N97 NAM.

Question...was this demonstration done with the screen rotation disabled?

Same applies to this calibration method from what I have observed. Turning the rotation off let me get a lock. With the autorotation on, I wasn't able to get a lock and had to wait a while.

I presume you didn't wait to get the ovi reading unit the N97 one was working?

I don't know if the N97 in the video had autorotation switched on, but mine does have it on and it works for me.
