Just a short little survey...
How many times a day do you have to reboot your N97 -and- WHY?
I find that I'm at about 1.5 times a day. Lately it is because Facebook will not go full screen and stay there. Most of the time it works, but occasionally it just wants to stay on the home screen.
Once every couple of days.. (for a forced reboot)
My major issue is that the touch screen will not work properly after you wake it up from sleep either by the slide or the keyboard. The phone is working - menus are accessible and so are the keys. Just the touchscreen becomes no good. sometimes you can get it working if you fiddle around with it.. else it calls for a reboot. The crappy thing is that sometimes you cannot answer calls either because the touch screen (and the green/red buttons) is not working anymore and you basically lose the call.
My other main issue is with random reboots - for no reason.. This happened at least 4 times in the past two weeks. There was also a strange case where the screen turned black and the vibrating alert just kept going off (this was after a disconnected call) and will not turn off until you release the battery.
Sigh.. Nokia.. FIX THESE BUGS..
Errm, not kept count on a daily basis , but have had to re-boot about five times in the three weeks Ive owned it, but also had to strip out the battery at least three times as the on/off switch just wouldnt work.
Last time was two days ago. The screen would not go into landscape mode, only in portrait. Tried switching on / off, but had to resort to removing the battery.
One thing I have also noticed , is the New Email Indicator. I have configured the email widget / client to work with my gmail account. Works fine, sending receiving etc.
BUT, when I have a new email, there is a tiny little indicator at the top right of the screen. Even after opening and reading the new email, the indicator stays there. Have double checked all my messages and they are all read. The only way to get rid of the indicator is to reboot the phone
I agree.. That mail notification bug annoys the crap out of me too.. (happens on M4E)..
Mines been going 11 days straight now without a reboot. Touchscreen doesn't go, never locks up. Fairly high usage, but NO online widgets on the homescreen.

This happened to me, too.
I have to re-boot roughly once a day. I think the main problem is with those live widgets. The phone is a lot more stable when in 'offline' mode. Makes a bit of a nonsense of those telly ads currently running in the UK of 'always be connected' - 'only if you always re-boot' would be more truthful.
I don't use live widgets and so far had to reboot once since I got it. That was almost a month ago. Maybe these widgets are the problem....
Twice for me so far. Once when the theme effects disappeared despite being on, and another time when I had to pull the battery out due to a lockup.
Everynow and then the phone stops looking up contact names.
You get a message and it just comes from their number and when you reply to it the delivery report comes back "Delivered <number>" rebooting the phone fixes the issue.
Sometimes when you load the messaging nothing happens and you have to run your finger down the screen to make the inbox options appear.
Some days not at all. Some days 6 times or more...
Depends if I can't be bothered to wait for it to respond...
Has anyone added an MP4 for their ringtone and finding sometimes it "loses" the settings and rings the standard Nokia tone instead? This is driving me crazy... 😞
Yes, I've lost the "connection" of my assigned mp4 ringtone. It seems to disappear after each reboot.

Same story here, i've had mine 3 weeks and only rebooted it once.
I think the solution to this is not to use online widgets on the homescreen. (yes, i know it's not a real solution, nokia should fix the problem really)
