Nokia pod casting app and battery life

1 replies · 4,163 views · Started 12 July 2009

I have just started using my phone to listen to podcasts, and to facilitate this I have set up the podcastsing application to automatically check for new podcasts twice each day using my home W LAN. The problem is that the application seems to keep W LAN active all the time so the phone dies after only half a day sitting on the desk doing nothing. To break the connection and turn the radio off I have to shut down the application, but I then lose my place in the podcasts I'm current listing to.

Is anyone experiencing similar problems, and more importantly, has anyone got a solution?

Appreciate help,
Frank Olaf

I use the podcasting app too but sadly I can't comment on battery life. Mine checks once a day at 8am but it's always on charge at that time, and shortly after I head off for work.

What knarks me off tho is that ya have to keep the app running for it to check. Surely Nokia could make podcasting a proper system app.
