Preventing the flash from staying on during filming

Hello everyone,

I noticed that when filming with my N95 8GB, the flash is always on (not at full power but just a red-coloured light), for the entire duration of the filming. I often use it to shoot videos during the day, and so the flash being on unnecessarily drains out the battery. Does anyone know a hack that will make it stay off during filming? Thanks.

This has been asked several times and the answer is...
NO, you can't - at least not with software. You could always open the handset casing and cut the LED leg - obviously invalidating your warranty at the same time!

The reason you cannot turn off the LED during recording is due to privacy laws in many countries -
e.g. filming someone without their permission or knowledge - if the red LED is on, everyone knows you are recording.
