All, I am trying to install the P800 sync software on my Windows 2k PC. The software has installed OK but when i connect the USB cable it can't find a driver for the DCU-11.
Also, just out of curiosity has anyone had any stability problems with the software & driver once installed ?
Yes, i have had quite a few problems, but just use bluetooth now, its easier
I have a feeling that it had to get the drivers from the CD, after I had done the installation of PC suite. It may fail if you've taken the CD from the drive. Could be wrong, of course.
On the stability side of things, it has been better than the Nokia PC suite for the 7650. It's not perfect, sometimes something will crash, and then I've had to kill off a few processes and run the little program in the Startup menu to get things going again. It seems to run quite happily over bluetooth too, although I tried to use bluetooth before I had used the USB cable for the first time. It seems that you have to make at least one connection with the USB before the PC is able to recognise the phone with bluetooth.
Andy.

Restart your PC with P800 plugged into cradle and USB cable plugged in. Upon detecting new h/w, system prompts for location of driver. Insert PC Suite CD in drive. Select -- find driver automatically. It will search for driver in CD and install USB driver.
It is quite stable.
For most purposes I use the IrDA port.
But for backup/restore you must use USB port. So it is neccesary that it works.
Are you using a USB HUB to connect your SyncStation? I had a problem getting my SyncStation recognized by Win2K or XP when it is connected to a USB HUB. When it is connected straight to the primary USB port, it works. Also you can find the driver on the CD under the driver folder. You need to install it manually, which I did myself. Stability, I don't have any problems so far with regards to the P800 software/driver that I have installed in my pc. I use Win2K and XP. And you don't need the CD to be in your CD-Rom always. This is not like the game cd's. Good Luck.
I'm getting a real headache trying to get XP to see the drivers for my DCU-11 cable to link my SE S700i... the driver files are sitting right there on the CD! I can see them, why can't the "search for drivers" bit? im usually very good with PC's so I've tried all the obvious solutions, infact i've tried all the options it gives me...
any ideas?!
