I wanted to record the music from a particular game so I connected an audio cable (standard 3.5mm jacks at both ends) to my phone (Nokia N85) at one end and to my computer's Line-in jack. From the phone menu that came up after connecting the cable, I chose "Line-out".
I then proceeded to record input using Sound Recorder, having chosen Line-in as input signal from Windows' Volume Control. To my surprise, however, no sound was recorded. I then tried all possible combinations, plugging the cable to the Mic jack of the computer instead of the Line-in, and going through all input signal checkboxes from Volume Control. None of these combinations allowed me to get a signal on my recording.
Am I missing something here? What could be wrong? Thanks in advance for any help.
