Never mind its geek-perceived flaws (e.g. pointed out by me!), I was interested to note that Vodafone just published their current top 10 selling phones (presumably for the month of July) and that the Nokia N97 was at no.1, i.e. it's the best selling phone on Vodafone right now. Snapping at its heels was the Nokia 5800, followed by a herd of feature phones. The Blackberry Storm and an Android phone were at the bottom of its top 10 - the full list is below.

Given the interest in phones with the S60 5th edition operating system would it be possible please to add S60 5th edition as a separate "Platform" by which News and Software items in All About Symbian can be classified please?
I've just upgraded to an N97 from a N95 and it would help enormously in finding relevant news and reviews.
TIA
Mike
Mike.
We do actually already do this, but I've made a note to update the navigation drop down / links to make this more obvious.
For now direct URL is http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/S60_5th_Edition/
Also interesting to see Sony Ericsson doing so well, and Motorola nowhere to be seen.
Top 2 on Vodafone, how can this be possible? We are told by the sad geeks that these phones are rubbish..... oh wait, most of the world are not sad geeks.

Not even slightly surprising, as Moto don't have a single product available via Vodafone - they only sell Blackberry, HTC, LG, Nokia, Samsung and SE.

Aha, I didn't know that as I'm not a resident of the UK.
But that too is a bit weird, despite their ongoing difficulties Moto is still a volume phone maker so they ought to have at least some kind of product on sale through a network as large as Vodafone UK.
...I think the key thing to remember is that the N97 will inevitably have a spike in demand in its first few months. What's really quite amazing though is that seven months after release the 5800 still holds second place. I think that speaks volumes for the handset's popularity.
are you serious?
and where is IPHONE in that list?

Are YOU serious? You seriously don't know that the iPhone is exclusive on O2? If you do know then why would you expect to see an iPhone on a Vodafone list?
iPhone in the UK = Fail.
I thought this device was going to PWN every other? I suppose we'll have to once again wait for the next update to blow our minds. 18 month contract anyone?
I considered buying an N97 thru Vodaphone, until I found out that their so-called "Unlimited" web access is actually limited to a monthly allowance of 500Mb!! That's only HALF of he 1Gb that T-Mobile provide for their "Unlimited" Web & Walk service!
1. What's the point of buying a high-end phone optimised for web browsing, email, facebook etc with a paltry allowance like 500Mb per month? It certainly wouldn;t be enough for me.
2. How come Offcom allow this ridiculous situation where Voda can call their service unlimited when it is so very limited. What kind of rubbish outfit is Offcom, that lets the customer be scammed in this way. And what kjind of rubbush operator is Voda, for deceiving people deliberately in this way. Believe me, they make it VERY hard to find this information - it took me ages.
Come on AAS, this needs publicising, and Voda and OfCom need embarassing into sorting this out and making it clear and equitable - so that people KNOW what they're paying for!!
I had a nightmare with Vodaphone when I signed up with them years ago, basically poor coverage, and overcharging. I only joined them to get a Sharp GX30

Thanks for the URL. While it's good to know that there is an S60 5th edition News list the sidebar and main menus don't seem to mention S60 5th at all so it would be good it these could be updated to include a mention please.

I`d be very interested to see how many units of the N97 were sold compared to the number of units that O2 sold of the iPhone...
Guys cool down.
iPhone sells well in the UK. It does not appear in this list since it is exclusive to O2, and this list is about sales at Vodafone...
