bbc i player

Hi,

when i go to applications - bbc iplayer it asks me to allow connection to network, so i click yes (i'm on orange, unlimited internet)

then when i go to a programme to watch it tells me "sorry but to play to Bbc iplayer programmes you need to switch to a wifi connection"

i come out of it because i can't find a way to just switch it over from orange to wifi in options. I go to connectivity and then connect to wifi and then access iplayer from there, but it's the internet full screen for computers and too big for ma phone. Also, it seems a bit stoopid to watch bbc iplayer through wifi because i can only access it inside the home and might as well watch it on the computer anyway so what's the point of that ??

any ideas? what am i doing wrong ?

aaahhhh thinking about it, i hadn't got a full 3g connection when i tried earlier, that's what it probably is ....... sorry 🙄

You can only use iplayer if you are on 3 network or vodafone, if you are not on those you have to use wifi.

Very annoying.

But you can use wifi to download progs and watch them anytime

Kinda prevents the act of spontaneously watching something.

On a slightly related note, I had email from BBC Mobile the other day to state they were working on making their Live TV service compatible with the N97 and that it would be working soon.

Unsure how long soon is but guess it's a step in the right direction
