Too much to ask to be able to look at photos taken?

I took a selection of pics last night of a mate so I could assign one to his contacts entry and could I access them in the photos app after? Of course I couldn't.

This is a flagship device and is it really a lot to ask to simply be able to access some pictures?

Had to go through file manager in the end.

In a way I can forgive some of the more technical bugs and work around them until they are fixed in an update but something as simple as this is unacceptable. Afterall, this bug was there before the recent firmware update so should be fixed now.

For months my brother in law and I were deciding whether to go for the 97 or Iphone - he chose the apple and me the 97. Has he had any issues with the apple? Nope, not a thing.

If Nokia don't know they've fallen massivly short on the 97 then I'd be very worried. I never saw this level of dissatisfaction when the 95 came out.

Rubbish :icon13:

Saving photos to a contact on the iPhone is a breeze too takes about 4-5 seconds, but the thing about this is, if its a bug it will definitely be fixed because the phone has such a good camera and video camera i think its a good selling point for the n97

Did you take the phones with your N97 or did you copy them from somewhere else?

I have had no difficulty with either the Photos application or the Photo Browser.

They both seem to find images no matter where I put them and I have clost to 100 of them.

Which version phone do you have and are you running the latest firmware?

I took the photos on the 97.

I've got all my old N95 snaps on the phone too and these are visible through the dowloads section of the photos app but I've got a fair selection of new photos which I've taken since getting the 97 which I can't see.

I've got a sim free black uk phone running the latest firmware.

:con?

😊

Not all my photos taken with my N97 have appeared in the "Captured" section of Photos. So far the missing ones have all turned up in "Downloads" section, but it's rather annoying having them mixed in there.

if you go to "captured", get them up as thumbnails and highlight the pic you want, then click options, and then scroll down to "use image" you have the option there to assign the image to contact

also, if you open your camera and then go to settings, you can check to see which memory it's sending the photos to - i've set mine to memory card.

sorry if i'm stating things you already know 😊

Try downloading the Betalabs photo browser, i much prefer it, it seems to pull images from all over the phone as well. You can find the link on Dave Cozens free N97 site

Edit - Oh and don't forget, your picture will look much better when you put them on your pc then the iPhones, it doesnt even have a flash and only 3mp!

I've got the photo browser app and you're right, it does show up all the snaps which is good. But in this case that app doesn't have the facility to assign to contacts. But I think I'm going to use the photo browser from now on - it's not perfect though as it seems to take ages for the thumb nail to appear and then for the picture to sharpen up.

Thanks for all your comments by the way :icon14:

That bug is sorted now, just go to Sw update folder in app and install c memory patch, it's showing in captured folder now.

Thanks for that tip, I thought the sw update thing was for firmwares!

I installed the patch but the number of snaps showing in captured shows as the same as before and when I try to open captured I just get a blank screen!

😊

It's quite funny really!

No sometimes I loose pictures from the gallery ( they disapear form both Downloaded and Captured )

What I want is a way of taking all my old N95 photos and getting them correctly moved to captured under the right date/month option.
