Does anyone know where i can get a open golf or ashes widget?
I thought the ashes app in ovi store was it, but its just an app with the scores, which is pointless if you ask me, i can just look on the net for that.
There is so so so much scope for utilising the widgets for information that we really need but the software backup just isn't there
eg if you got onto the open website there is massive advert for downloading free iphone app, naturally nothing there for n97
Anything you can do with an RSS feed maybe?

He's not wanting to know scores of other people.
He wants a widget to KEEP SCORE while he's playing.
Please forgive our "techie" mindset here...most AAS Forum members live indoors and spend most of their time on the computer/UMPC/PDA/N97 and don't get fresh air and sunshine!
Sorry, just to clarify, i want the widget to give me up to date scores of the open golf in scotland and the ashes cricket at lords. I want to glance at my homepage and see the score without going on net with my browser or launching an app
Oops...my mistake...you're a mushroom like the rest of us.
You can do what you want pretty easily:
1. Using the Web Browser, find an RSS feed that has the information you want.
2. Add it to the list of Feeds (subscribe)
3. Close the browser.
4. Go to your Home Screen and select Options->Edit Content
5. In an empty widget spot (not inside a shortcut bar), tap on it, select Add Content, select your desired RSS Feed from the list of choices.
6. Select Done.
As long as your Home Screen widgets are Online, you should get a "live" feed from the RSS which you subscribed to.

In the web browser, you will need to:
[INDENT]1. Go into the Web Browser
2. Select the desired feed
3. Select Options->Edit->Edit->
4. Enable Automatic Update and then enter the desired interval for updating. Choices are:
Off, 15 minutes, hourly, 4 hours, daily, weekly[/INDENT]

Well, with the Ashes Test at Lords poised as it is, I'm just camped onto the BBC scores page....only two wickets to go ....Come on Freddie.
yes, me too given that damn RSS feed thing is annoying me!
The RSS feed has scores from a number of games, all i want is the Ashes score, but its about 4/5 down the list, is it possible to move it to the top, so that it shows on my widget?

I think I spotted an ashes widget in the Ovi store earlier today...
i was surfing the OVI store last night and noticed that there is a new Eng Vs Aust prog, and this time its a widget, precisely what i asked for, not just a silly programme!
its almost like Nokia are monitoring what we're saying.......
there is also a really funny programme called Midomi, where you sing or hum a song and it identifies it, a good laugh
There you go...a cricket fan like me.
