It has not been possible to connect your call

Over the last couple of months people have been telling me its been getting harder to contact me as they can never get through. Last night a friend called my land line saying it was happening again so I tested it out.

I dial my number, it goes silent for about 5 seconds then an automated message says "It has not been possible to connect your call, please try again later"

Ive checked my signal levels and they are on full, I can also dial out perfectly.

I'm using an N73 which must be about 2 and a half years old now, its on O2. I called O2 this morning, they said my phone was probably on its way out and tried to get me to upgrade to an iphone. 🙄

This sounds like bad business . When you have a subscription , they are obliged to connect you , no matter the age of the phone .
To check out if there is no defect in your phone , you should try another SIM card from another operator (maybe your friends) . (However this wouldn't work when the phone is SIM locked by O2) .
This is a way to check if your phone needs repair or hard reset :

Be aware to have a BACKUP !

Quick Update

I done a hard reset around 2 weeks ago and it seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for the advice. 😊
