Hi all,
I have a N97 on Three PAYG and was wondering if anyone has removed the sim lock on one before? Speaking to customer services I get different stories depending on the person I speak to - but mainly based around either the codes or process on their system being incorect. They all maintain that it has been "escalated" to Nokia and advise me to call back in a month (that is a heck of a long time!).
I don't really care too much about the branding right now, I just want to be able to put other sims (especially while I am travelling) into the phone and feel a month is a long time to wait! Am I better off returning/selling this handset and going for a Sim Free option?
I once wanted some sort of Nokia handset on 3 PAYG purely because it was the cheapest around. I went into the shop to buy it and before purchasing asked if it could be unlocked to which they said no. Its apparently something to do with their software or something. So i'd guess this is the case with a lot of their phones especially with the N97 with it being so new. However theres some mobile genius' on here so i'm sure someone knows how to go about unlocking one (whether it be legal or not haha?)
Hi, I have in the past managed to get 2 separate E71 unlock codes out of 3.
You have to keep trying different people, and once they have taken the 15 off you you can hassle them more.
Hrrm, just had this live chat with them. (Could not copy and paste so I THINK I have attached it as a JPG)
