This morning my Accuweather widget starting showing advertisements!?!
First an ad for Jaguars with a link to video, then an ad for the Ovi store.
Was I the first to see this? I didn't notice anything before with Accuweather except a link to "Download the latest software" at the bottom of the display.
ha!
only shows in portrait mode.... that was why I'd never seen it....
cunning... can't blame them. gotta make a liiving somehow...
I wondered about the same thing actually! I can't remember that there were ads in the fullscreen app until very recently...
About a week ago I got tired of having the auto-rotate fighting me when I would pick up the phone to answer it, so I've been pretty much running in Portrait mode for that time.
I can vouch that my Accuweather had not been displaying advertisements at the bottom of the screen before today.
I suspect that a calendar-enabled feature caused it to be activated (after a certain date or number of days).
