big memory jump

as some of you may have read in a other thread i was trying to uninstall some programmes to free up phone memory when i uninstalled ovi store client and lost the ability to access the store from my phone , well today as a last resort i did a hard reset and then ran a backup i did from yesterday afternoon and the phone was back to normal when i checked the memory status in file manager i got a shock before all this happened i had 31mb free now i have 47.6mb free the only thing missing was 8 bluetooth files stored in my inbox ( all other texts both sent and recieved are still intact) which is set for mass memory so i cant explain a near 17mb jump in phone memory.

I'm probably stating the obvious here... but could the 8 missing bluetooth files have totalled 17Mb in size?

just checked the mailbox settings and it was set to phone memory switched it to mass memory which is was using before and they came back and is still showing 46.5mb free😊

it seems on the restore the phone has restored the 51 texts recieved and 20 sent to phone memory i jusy deleted them and switched back to mass memory all originals + bluetooths are there and phone is showing 47.7mb free😊

Question: Are you still missing the Ovi Store on your N97?

I'm just going through files on my phone to try and save more space and I came across the OviStore 1.5.231 sisx installer, and wondered if it might be of use to ya.

i've got the ovi store back thanks i downloaded that yesterday to try and cure the problem but when you try to install it it refuses giving a message "cannot install as file is embedded on phone" not exact wording but it seems the ovi store app is embedded in the new v11 firmware on n97 but thanks anyway.😊

just deleted the duplicate sent and recieved messages that the restore copied to phone memory and up to 47.7 free.

just a thought could the extra memory be down to packet data being sent/recieved on phone maybe now cleared i maybe well out but hopefully someone with a bit more knowlage than me (wouldn't be hard) can shed a bit of light on this.:con?

Ah thats ok then. It'll help me clear space.

Speaking of clearing space... is there any way at all to remove JoikuSpot, Qik, and Boingo???
