N97 keeps turning itself off

Hey everyone I don't know normally complain like this but I am starting to freak out.

I owned this phone for over 2 weeks and every day at least twice a day it turns itself off for no reason. I thought maybe I wasn't locking the phone, then I thought maybe it was unlocking when I slid it into it's pouch. But none of these things turned out to be it, it seems the phone just randomly crashes for no reason.

Does anyone else have or had any such issue as this?

Any help would be great thanks

This has happened to me various times but not as frequently as twice a day.

On mine, the screen compresses into a virtical line and then fades away a bit like when you turn an old TV off!

Just another example of the unfinished state the phone was launched in.

My N97 NAM did that once but I was loading JPC (a x86 PC emulator written in J2ME Java language).

After installation, I ran the program and it gave all appearances of running successfully and about 2/3rd of the way through the virtual PC "boot" process the display went to a line and the whole phone rebooted.

I uninstalled the software and have not seen this behavior since.
