Whats a good case for N97. I just ordered n97 last night, over night delivery, can't wait to get it. I don't want a pouch like thing, and i don't want hard plastic. I had it on n95, and it scratched the colors on it. So something soft and nice.

I've got the top one.
I've had the phone for over a month now, and have just got round to buying a case. Just ordered this off eBay. Have bought PDair stuff before and have ben pleased with quality / service. I didn't want a pouch type affair, nor a belt clp type thing, I wanted a flip open type case, but this gives a the best of both case and belt clip.

Just be careful about getting a case with a magnet in it.
People on other boards have reported that the magnet has been triggering the camera software (thinking that the lens cover is open).
I know of problems with other cases and Nokia phones where the magnet "fools" the phone into thinking that a switch has been pushed to silence the call. Drove the users crazy as to why the phone was not letting them answer.
I can confirm that the magnet DOES affect the camera... do NOT get a case with a magnet!!
Oh, now I know why my camera comes on when I put my N97 in the magnet case I have!!!
I use the plastic cover 2 peice things. Work nicely on the phone with a bit of fine tuning. �2-�3 on ebay.

be careful if you have to take it off though. The little plastic lugs are really really not robust... and obviously as it's an n97 you'll have to take the battery off a lot...
i have the genuine nokia one - bought it from expansys for about �12 delivered. Its ok, nothing spectacular but very tight over the phone to start with. Its now almost too loose over the phone...
One thing I really dislike though, is due to the shape, one corner of the phone is always exposed (as well as one side)

Tell me about it, got a few spares and a few have gone in the bin with busted plastic lugs. I find it easier to type with these case as they provide a bit of extra grip.
I'm using a crystal case I bought for a tenner from Car Phone Warehouse. Works fine, the usual 2 bits of clear plastic which attach securely to the front and back of the phone.
I also bought a universal screen protector for 2 quid at the same time so all in all my N97 is now like fort knox to scratches and bumps!
Which is great until you need to take the battery out...

Which I just had to do a few minutes ago (one day I will buy a phone that doesnt routinely crash!). Took maybe an extra 2 seconds to do.
Admittedly though I would only want to do this every now and then, mainly to avoid any damage to the case. The little plastic "claw" things that hold it in place look like they prefer to be left in place.

I rather like the crystal case, wven with the extra bulk. The first one i had died from requent removal. I now have a ruberised black version of the crystal case. Feels really nice - but I'm not putting it on until I'm removing the battery less often.
I suspect this day may be at least 2 firmware releases away... *sigh*
Oh dear, looks like the one I've ordered has a snap magnetic fastening....
Ok, haven't actually got it yet, as I'm still in Saudi, last day at work tomorrow, and back in Blighty on Friday, si ti will be at home waiting for me...
Anyone recommend one to meet the following criteria....
Not a belt clip type
Not a pouch
Want a flip open type case
Don't necessarily want a crystal case
Prefer a leather one.
And of course - no magnets.
