anyone knows how to install and play eDoom on a p800 correctly??Ive tried it twice but it doesnt work...and yes I DID save the wad files
eDoom doesnt work
Remember to place both the wad files in the DOOM folder under Documents.
I have tried the shareware version and now I have the full version installed on my MS DUO. They both run perfectly. I love this game! :bday:
and dont forgetto rename wad files...if it is full version doom.wad, shareware version -> doom1.wad and the other one doom3.wad..
god, we must unite, create a web page about this doom or i will start screaming :fadein: ...
also dont hasitate to touch the "upper sides" of buttons above the screen because otherwise it will drive you crazy...
Having just managed to get this working and being enormously chuffed about it, I am on a mission to help others.
The key thing for me was getting the correct WAD files. You need an IWAD file (eg doom1.wad from version 1.9 of the shareware demo, but I believe that the doom.wad from the full version works as well - as soon as I get my 128MB Memory Stick I shall try it) plus the doom3.wad from version 1.3 of Legacy Doom.
Doom3.wad is not easy to find as the later version as the Legacy Doom site only has versions 1.32 and 1.40, which don't work. What I did was to search for an old Linux RPM file which was version 1.3 and extract the WAD from that. If you don't have access to a Linux box, you will just have to search for a Windows version 1.3.
When you install edoom.sis a directory called DOOM is created in the documents folder on the memory stick and on the phone's memory. This is where (either of the two should do it) you need to install your doom1.wad and doom3.wad.
Good luck, it's worth persisting.

Going to have to disagree with simon a tiny bit.
Doom3.wad is quite easy to find, the eDoom website even has a link to the 1.30 zip file ... but it is hidden down in the PSion Edoom section.
Just search for "legacy" http://www.yipton.demon.co.uk/content.html.
Version 1.9 of Doom is easily available from Tucows and the like. Download it, install it (on your PC), and there is your wad file. I prefer this to downloading it seperately, at least I know what it is and where it came from, and can be sure I have the right version.
Also I think the DOOM directories are only created when you first go into eDoom tiself (it just loads a start up screen, not the game itself). So go in, then select exit and they should be there.
Make sure you shut down all applications that you don't need before running it though.
It is bloomin' hard to control though, needs three hands !
im a bit thick so can you please explain in full the deal with edoom?
ive downloaded edoom (sis) and installed it on my p800.
when i press on the icon it says you need wad files or something?
could you give me step by step instructions on what i do next and where i get the files from?, i really want to play this game.
thanx mateyz
I cannot believe you guys are having this much trouble finding the wads, I mean, they are all over the web... 😊
I think the game can be controlled pretty good, you just have to spend some time in the options menu and play around with various button configs. And remember that one button can have multible functions. I only use the stylus to change weapons and save a game...
There's something I've been trying to figure out though, and that's how to add additional episodes/levels to this Doom port?? There's like thousands of wads floating around the web, but I cannot for the life of me figure out have to play these, they won't show up in the menu of EDoom. I know that you get 4 episodes with full version(I have that one) and alot of levels to go, but I wan't to try out even more episodes...-Any clues?
Cheers.
