*tumbleweed rolls past*
quiet in here today
(crickets and cicadas chirping here in Texas).
FYI...my home DSL line is down so I'm kind of hamstrung with regard to finding and evaluating more N97 software (as well as updating my Maps data!).
I did find an app that works well and is interesting, but since you don't want a .jar or a .jad...I had not mentioned it.
The application is trapster. It provides real-time access to speed trap, red light camera location, etc.
I downloaded it (but didn't create a login) and it shows me a very accurate map (interacting with the GPS to show current location) of the red light cameras and expected speed traps in my area.
I would suggest using it for planning a trip rather than real-time thought as it needs data access to the Internet for updates--could get expensive and run down the battery as it keeps the backlight on.
Is that US only? Sounds good!
I keep popping by to have a look for new entries ........ hhhmmmm maybe i should ask another stupid question 🙄
I'm off to my vacation house soon, so I've been encoding and filling my phone with movies in case of bad weather...
Some seasons from X-files, Wall-E, Cars, Ratatouille, Kung Fu Panda, and some more.
I have to say I'm impressed by the quality of what I've seen so far (only tested the pixar-movies, that I encoded from the blurays...)
Also installed the demo-version of Gravity. Nice app!
I'm semi lifting the jar exception so long as it's touch optimised stuff (I hate it when it adds that horrific virtual keypad)
D
Well guys (and gal/s), 10/10 to Accuweather.
It said it was going to rain all day here and guess what.... it's coming down, cats and dogs (for those not familiar with the expression, see here:- http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/raining%20cats%20and%20dogs.html)
So I'm spending the time adding album art to my music and optimizing some video's.
Shame I missed the English summer... I believe it was one afternoon last month!

Yes, I can't stand that either... does anyone know if there is a version of the Gmail app that doesn't show the massive cursor buttons in the bottom 2/3 of the screen in portrait mode. I find myself opening the N97, not to use the real keyboard but just to get rid of the virtual one!
Its worth bearing in mind that you can turn off the annoing extra cursor stuff etc. Go into App Manager (in Settings), highlight the relevant app and choose Options-> Suite settings. Change On-screen keyboard to Off. That way you get the full screen. The menu's can be slightly fiddly, but still work fine for me.
Some apps will not work if you turn the keyboard off as they dont have touch support.

Them's the ones I won't be listing on my site. If they support touch and they're free(or nag)ware then they're in...

Thanks, didn't know that and it makes the Java apps much more useable!
