N97 mini - pics in the wild

If someone has faked those photos or faked a device, they've done an excellent job. And one of the staff on the Vodafone Ireland forum mentioned an N97 mini in June I seem to remember.

I think they will be trying to release this at a lower price point, so will probably have a 3.2MP camera, smaller onboard flash memory and maybe a few other limitations the N97 doesn't have (no memory card slot?)

On the plus side, maybe this will mean S60 5th Ed on the N97 gets greater stability / features more quickly. I can hope.

Would guess a smaller battery and the screen looks about 2.8".
Also the Nav Key on the left is missing!
Looks as though it's been replaced by 4 nav. arrows on the right.

you know what the N97 mini really needs?

a sliding cover for the camera lens, it will clean the lens cover everytime you open and shut it, i'm going to get a patent and go on dragons den with this one......

surely there is no downside to this idea 🙄

Actually there is. If you want to use any soft material there and you get any little rubish on it. It Will scratch lens every time you open or close it. 😉

Would much prefer nav keys on the right as in the mini.

For some reason I still am not used to the nav key being on the left (me being right-handed) which is strange because I have no issues when playing my PSP or DS, but when it comes to using the nav key on the N97 I'm just not used to it:con?:con?

i'm forever hitting the options instead of the silver menu button 😡, it's got a magnetic pull for me :embarasse, it says options !!! and i want to opt for menu, i can't resist it:stupido3:

N97 without the D PAD will be horrible.. urgh.. I'd rather a larger device with the D-PAD.. (but I still wish they put the soft-keys back in).

Personally, I wouldn't want the N97 to be any smaller. For some reason I had something closer to my old communicator in mind when I bought it, even though I'd seen videos of it in action online, so the size really shocked me!

I agree the smaller form factor would appear to reduce the screen size and battery size.
