Hi Folks,
I would like a simple app to amend all my text messages just before it sends them.
Basically, my network (o2) doesn't support delivery reports as such, but by inserting *0# at the start of the message body you can trigger a delivery report.
I always forget to type the prefix untill it's too late.
Does anyone know if this type of app exists or where I would start with writing one?
Would it be easier to code my own SMS message sending interface?
Thanks in advance,
Graeme
Cant u use the temlates to make one that has these characters and then edit that all the time?
Could do, but ideally I would like to avoid a manual work-around
I am with O2 as well, ohh and they suck bigtime!
Heh,
Only had it a week but it get's worse!
I'm actually with SinglePoint who re-sell o2 network. Their customer service department has not proved remotely useful in any query I've had!
SinglePoint AND O2?????? Man get ready for some serious disapointment :-?

God, Muffy doesn't know how right he is! 😊
The code to set in front of the message to get a true receipt (compared to the setting in some handsets) is defined in Network equipment (switch layer). Usually operators try not to disclose that code as it generates extra traffic, unpaid of course.
Unless this service is charged, it won't be public; then you need a connection inside the operator to let you know what code is used...
