Ovi suite has messed up PC Suite

New problem to report, downloaed the new Ovi Suite, got it all set up and connected to my phone, thing is I don't like it so went back to PC Suite.

Now when I switch on the phone's bluetooth on the N97 it won't automatically connect to PC Suite as it did.

I have uninstalled Ovi Suite, and reinstalled PC Suite but the same problem, I have to manually connect via bluetooth every time I want to connect to my PC to sync Outlook etc using passkeys etc.

Any help fellas, an annoying niggle!!!

I had not nothing but problems after installing Ovi suite. Gave up on it and went back to PC suite, which then wouldn't work properly either. I uninstalled Ovi suite, uninstalled PC suite and went into device manager and uninstalled the N97 entries. Restarted the PC and installed the most recent PC suite from the net. That got PC suite working.

Tried all that and still the same problem. Needless to say this is very annoying.

Deleted everything Nokia on my PC and reinstalled PC Suite with the same results.

Oh well!

Have you tried uninstalling the bluetooth drivers and then re-installing them?

Also on one bluetooth dongle I have if I install the drivers that came with it I have the same problem and have to keep manually reconnecting my bt connection. I changed the drivers over to generic microsoft ones and now it connects automatically with no problems.

Might be worth a shot

Try uninstalling everything and then using THIS. I had trouble with installing PC Suite (even though it was the first time ever) when I first got my 5800 and using this utility did the trick.

Hi,

Do have backup of your phone data & PC registries then Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Connectivity cable driver, PC Connectivity solution, Nokia flashing cable driver(if any on your PC), Run PC Suite cleaner. Install latest Nokia PC Suite from europe.nokia.com/pcsuite, reboot your pc. Once pc started, connect your phone with USB in different ports of your PC and check 😊

I found I started having problems with both PC Suite and Ovi Suite BOTH installed on my PC.

Thanks for posting the link to PC Suite Cleaner.
