Bug or "feature"...autokeylock / lighttime — Nokia Nseries S60 5.0 phones (Nokia N97 and Nokia N97 mini)

I'm new here. I bought myself a N97 on last sunday.

I own some symbianpowered Nokia's which are really good working mobiles.
But the N97 is really worse, or should I say the FW is?
It isn't the s60v5 itself, cos my gf's 5800 is working really good.

I'm using the latest FW (11.0.021), I think.

I was using a E90 before, which wasn't that buggy on the mobiles release.

The N97 speed is better than I thought.

But the following bug, or feature like the guy on the nokia-hotline was calling it, is driving me crazy.

Every time, when I'm not using the N97, the light goes out and the keys are going to the be locked.

Now, if I want to see the homescreen or any screen, I've to unlock the mobile using the switch on the left side.

But no screen is coming, only keys and the display are lighting up.

The nokia-hotline-guy advised me to set the autolock-time to max (5 min.) and the lighttime to a shorter time than the autolock one. He said, that the autolock-time should be longer than the lighttime. But it doesn't really works!

I've read something about pushing the menu/camera-key before unlocking, it isn't working for me. I also tried SmartLight, but my N97 doesn't care.

It looks like it isn't the switch at all, cos after completely disabling the auto-keylock, the N97 still shows the same problem.

Anyone have the same problem?
Anyone have a workaround/solution to fix it?

This was supposed to be fixed in the last firmware update but wasn't' so I guess we will just have to wait until the next one. :icon13:

i thought it was just apps slowing down the unlock or it was just me lol... but yeah i have the same issue sometimes here and there i have to unlock it 2 to 3 times to use.. =(

Well, it looks like "lightctrl" can extend the lightening time.

Looks like I've got 3 ways:

1.
Maybe I'm just to fast for the FW.
Cos at the moment, it pull the switch, wait about 50 sec and than slide with a finger over the display seems to get my homescreen back...not the fastest way, but I'm trying... :redface:

2.
The other way is pushing and sliding over the display, after a specific amount of time, the screen is back.

3.
Sometimes, I only have to wait a few seconds...still trying to figure it out
