Video zoom on the Nokia 5800

Hi,

Sorry if this has been dealt with previously, but I didn't get any hits when searching on the subject.

When entering Video mode on the Nokia 5800, the object you see in the phone's display is very overzoomed, even if the zoom meter is at the minimum value. So, the only option you have, is to zoom even more. In comparison, the Picture mode looks normal.

Does anyone know why Nokia has chosen this default setting in the firmware ?

this happens because you have the video setting on WIDESCREEN. you should not use this setting, and just change the video setting to the maximum quality.

nokia made a widescreen video mode but really all it is doing is artificially cropping the picture from full mode, which endsd up looking zoomed in like that.

the solution is to just not use widescreen since full mode is technically better and gives more pixels in video mode.

basically widescreen mode is useless, dont use it!
