Check Flights checked

Check Flights is a small and simple widget from the Nokia Ovi Store that lets you (guess what?) look up flight information, whether you're rushing to catch one or meeting someone off a plane. Ewan takes a quick look at Check Flights and gives it the thumbs up, partly because it's totally free, albeit with on-screen adverts, and partly because of its Calendar integration.

Wonder why they pulled this one off the Ovi Store. So very Applesque of them.

According to Google search , CellCity Check Flight is a review on AAS and some travelfacilities in Singapore .
Suppose Nokia Ovi doesn't like to become as popular as AAS .

😊 Regards jApi NL

And there is no wasy I can find this on ovi store.
Is there a link to a different download ?

I'm logged in, ran a search for Check Flights, but can't find it. I'm in the US on a NAM N85.

I got this from the Ovi Store several weeks ago and it is indeed a handy application to have.

It is definitely still in the store for the N97 as I've just checked.

If you can't see it, it might be that the application wasn't marked compatible with the device that you've selected.

Then again, when I tried to get to the OVI store through the commercial link on this page *9my phone's browser) I received an message that OvI store does not support my device... which I know is not true.

I have an N81 but I cannot try to see if it works since I left it in for warranty repair over five months ago 😞 😞 😞
(Beside the point, but only way I was able to get Nokia Customer Care Sweden even to talk to me was to publish and heavily promote a blog about Nokia refusing to help me to get a phone still under warranty repaired. If anyone is interested to find out just exactly how bad a customer care can get, you can follow it here http://sweden101.wordpress.com )

I can't find it on the ovi store. Neither with my N97 ovi app nor with my normal PC.

There you go. I just changed my mind and Nokia will never make a serious go of it with Ovi store.

Why? All these gripes are stupendously dumb. I am not convinced it doesn't work on either an E71 or an N95. But even if I am not signed in, why is "not found" an acceptable message when someone follows a link to your software?

How many downloads are they missing just from AAS readers trying to follow the link? How many more every day from similar marketing drives not working? How many millions more from developers who see this behavior, and decide they want nothing to do with it.

I cannot think of anything else I gave up on so soon, after having anticipated it for, oh, so long and hard. NEVER thought I'd say these words, but I actually prefer the 'Download' interface to that of the OVI store mobile client.

If anyone has got a hotline to Nokia, please tell them to make the interface something like the Widgets was... I don't care if it takes a while to load initially for as long as it is smooooth 😊 once it is loaded. It looked good, too. And it made sense.

Oh... and BTW, in 2009, a search is not suppose to fail if it is off by one letter.

It is not the first time it happens... Nokia, WhyTF do you dump things that work and ppl like, and keep replacing them with things that are impossible to love, no matter how much we try!
