I'm bored and frustrated with trying to get a non-generic response out of Nokia Care...
Does anybody know any email address for Nokia Head Office?
No email address, but:
The UK registered office of Nokia is:
Nokia House, Summit Avenue, Southwood, Farnborough, Hampshire, GU14 0NG
The Global Head Office is:
Nokia Corporation, P.O. Box 226, FI-00045 Nokia Group, Finland
You can contact the board here:

I think a polite but firm letter sent to the UK and global head office via a recorded delivery service would be a good move (that's what I did).
If it makes you feel any better Dave, I have emailed a couple of contacts of mine who both work for Nokia. They have promised to forward my email onto the correct department regarding the camera lens issue. Nothing concrete back as of yet though.
It only makes me feel a little bit better. I had another response from Nokia Don't Give A Flying F... Ooops... Nokia Care

Dave, i tend to think that any letters you send in will only get used as mousemats.
I've been looking at lots of other websites and fan zones on facebook etc and this is such a worldwide issue that i can't believe now that it is "bad batch" syndrome.
If you still feel inclined to write in, maybe you should consider a consumer complaints body, or even watchdog come to that. How easy is it for you to create a website specifically for the lense problem in order to lobby en mass instead of individually ?
Online petitions are easy enough to set up. Not sure what we'd be petitioning for... Nokia to acknowledge that there is an issue with the lens and that'll they'll be replacing affected models with new devices?
I already emailed Watchdog, but got no response. Hopefully they read the email though...
well yes, all of those things ..... and creating a place specifically related to this problem, i know that all of us search other N97 forums so it wouldn't be difficult to spread the word.
also an awareness as some people actually think that they caused the scratch themselves.
these handsets need replacing completely, not "fixing" ......
I was thinking something like: -
Nokia recently released a flagship device - The Nokia N97. The N97 suffers from a manufacturing issue which results in the sliding lens cover actually scratching the lens it is supposed to protect. This results in poor image quality, blurring and light artefacts of varying levels for affected owners.
Nokia are refusing to acknowledge that there is an issue, but are replacing lenses at Nokia Care Points on an adhoc basic. Meanwhile customers are continuing to purchase a device that is effectively damaging itself.
This petition is aiming to achieve two things: -
1. That Nokia should publicly acknowledge that there is an issue with the lens cover on the N97.
2. That Nokia will replace affected handsets with new (not hastily repaired) handsets as an apology when the issue has been resolved at manufacturing level.
This is what the Office of Fair Trading have to say about mobile phones and consumers rights:-
http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/after_you_buy/know-your-rights/mobiles/
Having read that article I feel you are more than justified in contacting them and I would urge anyone else with a similar problem to do the same as complaints are collated.
