Hey ppl,
Not had my N97 long and its ok but i have experienced some problems.
I have done some research and figured that some of them will be addressed with a firmware update.
I was wondering how I would go about backing up my contacts that i can restore to the phone after the firmware update without affecting things.
It would be cool if i could delete all the contacts off my sim card then back them all up to the sim.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

If you've got a removable memory card you can back up to that from file manager... Dead useful. I only backup contacts/calendar/messages/bookmarks. Not settings & files.
Failing that you can sync to either Ovi contacts or something 3rd party like www.Zyb.com
well first of all you should copy all contacts to your sim card.
number 2, you can backup all your contacts to your memory card. this is in the contacts setting.
third, you can sync your contacts with ovi and it will backup every contact with details and all.
fourth you can use pc suite to create a backup of your contacts.
Thanks for the help guys, so if i just backup contacts the memory card then restore after a firmware update it wouldn't potentially damage the phone in an way?
Thanks again.

it certainly won't damage the phone and its always a smart idea to backup the phone before and after a firmware update. The better backup would be to go into your file manager and do a full backup to the memory card from there. This grabs everything including your contacts.
