question about firmware reinstall

3 replies · 5,254 views · Started 13 August 2009

on my n95 8gb when i reinstalled firmware it would actually reinstall everything - for example on the original 3's firmware skype, 3mail and many more programms were installed and when i did a reinstall i would get all them programms back, but on N97 this doesnt happen, it seems that its not a proper reinstall, for example ive unistalled skype, 3mail, games but i cant get them back with reinstall.

how can i flash my n97 to like when ive got it out of box i.e. with skype, 3mail etc installed?

which method did you use sam.

i know there's a *# 73 ... number you can do, but there's also a button pressing method (it's on here somewhere, i'm sure someone can link it for you) - the last method put all my deleted applications back in 😊

hi Sam, i dont think there is a way of reinstalling the firmware / flashing the phone and get skype, 3mail, games etc etc can get those stuff back for you. Just because the N97 uses UDP (User Data Preservation) where what ever you have installed, uninstalled, saved to the phone will be kept, and all the reinstall, reflashing, updating does is reinstalling, flashing, updates the OS / Firmware itself - as in the actual OS that runs the phone.
