As an interim solution to solving the problem with the camera lens cover I had resorted to leaving it open and opening the camera by pressing the shutter key. This works great for pictures, but not so for video. The first problem is that the video recording mode starts in 4:3 instead of 16:9, which is a kind of annoying, especially since the video player sometimes sees them as 16:9 video files.
The second problem is that the first 5 to 10 seconds of the video recording is more or less corrupt in many of the recordings I make. And, seeing as I often shoot short clips this makes them kind of useless.
It is anyone else seeing this problem?
