qwerty key board

My backlight comes and goes and not all of the letters seem to have backlight which makes typing in the dark pretty difficult.

The best angle to see the backlight is looking straight down with your eyes perpendicular to the keyboard. Even then, my "E" is pretty dim. At a slight angle, many of the blue shifted keys are not even readable.

Daft question, but the backlight works off a light sensor, are you testing this in a dark room?

Cheers.

Yep the keyboard lights are sensored (I thought mine was playing up).
Go somewhere dark and they should light up fine

Explaining my previous post comments...

Yes the keyboard lights up in a darkened room, but some of the keys are dimmer than others and the view-angle for the backlighting is quite narrow on my white N97 NAM (i.e. best angle is 90 degrees) which kind of defeats the sit comfortably in a chair with the N97 on a table-top typing posture--you have to crouch over it which makes the screen view limited.
