Daves N97 Wallpaper Collection

It's a bit limited right now, but I'm n97ising a bunch of my photos and adding them as we speak...

Currently here: - http://www.davecozens.com/n97/wallpaper/ and a bit simplistic. I'll probably make it a little more shiny later...

Might add something for you folks to submit your own too if you're interested...

Right. It's up to about 50 images, all resized for the n97. I'll trawl through my photo catalogue and add some more later..

It's mostly sky, sea and nature stuff right now.

Feedback appreciated. If it's moderate popular I might even make a widget...

Good job Davey boy!

Yes please if you could include a feature so we can add our own that'd be great. I've taken a few nifty shots with my cameras (including the N97) and have used them as wallpaper on my own phone.

Would it be a good idea to get the images cropped to 640x640 instead? That way it isn't resized/stretched/deformed/etc when the phone is rotated.

Might do that going forward. some of my photos might not have the detail where i want them...

I'll have to have a look. Plus it doesn't work so well for landscapes. Why it insists on rotating the background I'll never know!

edit: going to add file upload later in the week. but i'll be asking for uploaders to do the thumbnail as well (probably) and I'll have to provide some kind of moderation capability too, in case some bad content gets uploaded... seem reasonable?

Surely there's a free thumbnail generator you can use on your site that'll make 'em automatically.

How would you moderate them as well, short from authorising images before they appear on the site? Maybe you can code it to look for the shapes of anything, like sausages or kebabs and decline them 😉

lol. there's probably some thumbnailing functionality built in. I was being lazy.

Sausage detection is a no-no though... Perhaps retrospective moderation might be better...
