E61: Problem with the headset/usbcable connector at the bottom of the phone — Nokia Eseries S60 3.0 phones (E50, E60, E62, E61, E61i, E70)

Hi there,

I got a used E61 from ebay. I was initially impressed by the phone but noticed that whenever I started it up it said enhancements disabled. This didnt really bother me as I didnt know what it meant.

Then after reseting the settings to manufactorers settings there is always a headset icon in the corner of the screen and no sound comes from the phone. The only time it makes sound is when I put the usb cable in the phone.

I'm suspecting that the phone thinks that there is a headset connected due to a problem with the connector at the bottom of the phone or is this some sort of setting that is wrong?

Anyone else experienced this or has a fix?

It will probably be a hardware issue . Hope you will have some warranty .
You can try the "vulcan death grip" to be sure . It deletes all personal data , so be sure to have a backup , before resetting . See this thread :
