I can't believe that no one has discovered the Easter Egg in the N97 yet!
My guess is that it shows a screen with a picture of a brick.

So where is it?
It was supposed to have, but it doesn't work because of a bug...
it would be quicker and easier to go out and buy your own, you might also get what you paid for
But he'd have to wait till january...
i'm sure my local Londis still has some 😊
I did find some Easter Egg wallpaper for the N97, though:

"Easter Eggs" in programming terms denote "secret & hidden" features in a program--the most notable being Excel '97s built-in flight simulator. They are considered a "finishing touch" by the programmers on their "work of art".

Here is one iPhone app easter egg:

Perhaps the reason there is no Easter Egg (so far) in the N97 is that the programmers didn't think it finished -or- a work of art? 🙄
Of course, I like Dave's explanation of there being one, but it doesn't work because of a bug.

Shhhhhhh... I'll get told off for moaning again.... 😉
The Nokia N800/N810 Internet Tablets didn't have an 'easter egg' per se, but they did have a "red pill/blue pill mode" a la The Matrix where the red pill "takes you down the rabbit hole" (i.e. puts you into an advanced mode whereby you can override the repository settings for software installation).
The blue pill is the "safe" non-technical users mode.
