Ewan, The Fringe and The Nokia N97 - part 6

It's part 6 of Ewan Spence's 'real world' test of the Nokia N97 at the Edinburgh Fringe and it's embedded below. In this part he looks at how he uses the N97 (as a tablet), at the positioning of the d-pad (for gaming), at the device's 'tipping point', and at the N97 as a modem, before laying into Ovi Maps for not including gradient information or cycle routes. He also wishes there was a way to import Point Of Interest information for special events (like the Fringe). Happy watching!

You had the look of a little kid trying to jump into the shot on the previous installments ...

Great minds think alike....

I thought overlays were avalable in maps 3.0?
What version were you using?

Great video reviews by the way - like your style!

I'm an owner of a N97 using firmware v12.0.024 and just can't understand why they haven't solve all the issues this crappy application has already.
1. When you zoom in let's say the middle of the zoom bar, the app closes itself and takes you to your homescreen. That's annoying!
2. I like to use my N97 as a mass storage device. If you make a lot of photos as I do, there's an issue concerning to the way the USB connections are managed by the device. I connect via micro USB to my PC using Massive Storage mode. Then I navigate through the folders until I reach the one called Images, I choose all the photographs, copy-paste them on my computer and exit the connection removing the data cable. Well, when I opened the photos application it shows me everything empty, no photos at all. Using a browser like Y-Browser I found that photos remain in my device, thanksfully, but this crappy app doesn't find them. After several reboots and one soft reset finally it shows me my pictures.
Let's hope next firmware solved this big failure.

I almost forgot: why if it's called Photos it shows my videos too? That's weird.
