Alternative Calendar Widget available

I noticed on symbian freak, that there is an alternative calendar widget available.

http://www.symbian-freak.com/downloads/freeware/cat_s60_5th/descriptions/widgets/comingnext__dual_panel_calendar_widget_for_n97.htm

Well two widgets actually, it does the next 1-5 calendar entries on the first widget and the next 6-10 entries on the 2nd widget if you want it.

Doesn't show to do items though unfortunately 😞

Edit : Does to do items, just not ones that are actually today. Although hes constantly working on it it would seem, so might be fixed soon!

Funnily enough i'd just been browsing that site, going to get my lens repaired then do the mod for the cover and for the GPS! ( i bought mine privately so no chance of returning it)

Calendar is quite good, only using the first one as have lack of widget space! It's smaller text but readable enough and seems quite lite on resources, my ram seems slightly better off. Sorry Dave, removing what's next!

Installed, Booted it up first time.....rebooted the phone.

Booted second time......Shut the phone down. Had to take out the battery then put back in.

Anyone else had this problem?

It doesn't seem to play nicely with Accuweather and NewsBuzz widgets on my Vodafone branded v11.

After eventually getting it to load it slowed the whole home screen down when trying to access any of the widgets.

Seems to work OK by itself though.

I have a EURO1 SIM free N97 and I had the same thing - slow homepage and some slugishness opening / closing the calendar. A shame because it looks really useful.

I'm running UK Unbranded V11 (still no upgrade!) installed it to E: and it's working fine with my facebook & e-mail widgets, very quick to jump to the calendar too

Arrgghh! damn thing! Its crashed my phone 5 times, when you open it directly in applications does it load? Anyone got any recurring appointments wonder if its that?

Yeah, I have recurring appointments.

Yes, it loads the calendar.

Ok, so I've added the A part of it but just get Loading Content.

When i load up the app on its own, it pops the calendar up, i then have to exit the calendar to allow for this session only. for the app to access local data.

For some reason all Live widgets are stuck on "Loading Content" guessing its a bug...of some sort.

Working! Uninstalled, reinstalled to the C drive. Rebooted. Working. Apart from undefineds on every appointment.

Looking up though!

What other widgets are you using on your home screen angiepea?

As I mentioned, I have NewsBuzz and AccuWeather, together with 2 rows of shortcuts, and the moment I install ComingNext it seems to almost freeze the other two widgets. Have tried both C: and E:.

Shame really as it looks very good. :dontknow:

well ..... funnily enough Ian

I downloaded 3 things yesterday ..

1. Backlight from Ovi - It's great, i love being in control of how long i want my phone lit up, it works great - it downloaded direct to c drive, i didn't have an option but it's only a small file so .......

2. Coming next - i downloaded to memory card, no problems, no interference

3. Nunlock from Ovi store, it downloaded to Mass memory.

There was probably a couple of hours between each item being downloaded, but ater i installed Nunlock both of my widgets (facebook and Coming next) disappeared from the main screen, i was just left with 2 white strips. I tried to find a way to take Nunlock out and move it to memory card but i just couldn't find it ...... however, after switching my phone off and on again at least 6 times everything is in full working order.

Hope that helps

xx

Cheers for that celios!

As Del Boy, in only Fools and Horses, might say... "Purfick".

The updated version is now playing nicely with my other widgets and I'm a happy bunny. 😃

angiepea who let you loose in the OVI store?

I bet your motto is..."I came. I saw. I did a little shopping!"

I must say that Nunlock does look interesting. Was thinking about getting it myself.

Ha !!!!! and urm ..... yeah

actually i don't find nunlock that hot ..... you still have to "lock" the phone manually via the side switch and then press the silver menu key to get the nunlock screen to light up, and then swipe across to unlock the phone (as Dave already pointed out) - it's probably quicker to unlock via the side key ..... but not as pretty, and i like pretty things 😊

Thanks angiepea!

Think you just saved me 1.50p.

Now go and watch the flutterby's. 😃
