blocked use as modem (N86 8MP)

Hello, I'm totally new to this site, and i hope someone can help.

I searched the forums and can't find any infos on this subject. Here we go:

I'm a customer with T-Online Germany, and have the N86 8MP

They have a data-plan that includes unlimited internet access and content for 10 extra per month.

BUT, I'm not allowed to use the phone as a modem. I can only go online on the phone itself.

I've been told that the phone or the network would somehow notice that an external device was using the phone as a modem, and would block the connection.

I currently have a dataplan for 5 per month which only gives me 5 hours of onilne time per month, BUT in this case I can use the phone as a modem, and go online with my laptop.

That's the background information. My question is:

Is there something I can do in the phone (with a hack, or with different software) that will allow me to get the unlimited data-plan, and use the phone as a modem?

Or is this something that the NETWORK will recognise, and there's nothing I can do about it?

If this is the case, I have to have a dataplan for 35 per month to use it as a modem, how rubbish is that?

Anyway, help would be appreciated, before I start trying to hack my way into the phone's settings etc.

Thanks in advance!

I used to use my T-Mobile UK WebnWalk on my laptop when I wasnt supposed to and it never caused a problem.
