Filmed by Mark Guim and embedded below is a Nokia employee demonstrating the kinetic scrolling in all applications in the upcoming v20 firmware update for the Nokia N97. They also talk about memory improvements - as I understand it, C: disk space will be partly improved by optimisations and partly by building into the ROM items which are currently extras. We're all hoping for more free RAM, too.

Any word about Skype integration, or SIP functionality? Nokia seem to have gone quiet about this...
skype is there too, according to unwiredview.com
"SIP framework fully integrated with address book. Skype will be distributed as separate app since October. Only N97 N97/mini for now. Fully integrated with phone logs, call logs, address book."

Thanks chilko, music to my (and many other N97 owners) ears! :icon14:
Any sign of a similar update for the 5800?
wow things r looking up. im glad if that videos true that music player finally displays album art instead of jus words. small things eh........
Album art! Fantastic, about time : ) If something similar was in the pipeline for the 5800 / XpressMusic phones in general that would be a very, very welcome addition to a really solid, if slightly plain, music player.
N97 shaping up nicely then - shame the cynical so and so's over at The Register are referring to the 2.0 update as a 'rescue package'. Any other manufacturer would have had their updates described far more benignly for sure. Good work Nokia.
wait, no! this is not possible!
"nokia NEVER gives phones new FEATURES via firmware updates. they only fix existing bugs." end sarcasm.
ok so this is what many are trying to say around these parts. this clearly shows they can and should do the same for the 5800!
Very nice, if this feature comes to my 5800, I'll be happy with my Nokia product once more.

??????
I'm curious who was the original person that said no new features. Did he/she forget the features N95 got over its life time?

I don't think anybody said/wrote that. There was a comment that kinetic scrolling etc on the 5800 was unlikely because it is an entry level phone and that the new stuff would be available only on the premium products.
The N95 got demand paging, a search feature and auto screen orientation change, but no complete user interface renovation as is being suggested here.
Hey you forgot to mencion flash video on browser. i have an N95 .
So we're already talking about a third firmware update for the N97, whilst the N86 has only one? Admittedly, the N86 doesn't really need them like the flagship, but I hope the 8mp camera phone isn't being ignored.
i bet we'll never see anything like this on our 5800XM.
when is the release date?
Here is a little guide to get your N97 making SIP calls
