calendar disappeared from home screen

I've been using the 5800 for Months with the calndar on the front screen. Today it has disappeared, and I can't find any way to get it back. Any suggestions?

If you mean the calendar shortcut icon has gone AWOL then

Settings > Personal > Home Screen > Shortcuts

and then choose 'Calendar' as one of the shortcuts.

Also check

Settings > Personal > Home Screen > Home Screen

and make sure 'Calendar' is checked. This shows your next appointments below the shortcuts bar on the home screen,.

If you still have no next appointment showing then its probably because it only shows it if there is something in your diary within so many days I think (not sure how many off the top of my head)

The problem is that the tick box on the Home SCreen doesn't show me the Calendar option. I have the 4 others but not Calendar!

Any idea why it would disappear?

So when you go

Settings > Personal > Home Screen > Shortcuts

and select one of the shortcuts, then click Application when given the choice of Application or Bookmark are you not shown Calendar in the long list of possible options? (note the list of items to choose from is long and so does scroll)

That bit will work, but I don't want it as a shortcut. It used to display on the home screen, so I had today's meeting, to-do etc visible. Then yesterday it just disappeared!

If i'm understanding you right now then it is strange its gone off the list. Only further thing I could suggest is back up your phone as a precaution and either do a full reset (forget the keystrokes off hand but should be easy enough to google) or reflash it with the current firmware and see if that sorts it.
