Mailbox name = Whatever you want to call it

Mailbox type = POP3

Security = SSL/TLS

APOP secure login = Off

Outgoing e-mail

My e-mail address = Your e-mail address

Outgoing e-mail server = smtp.live.com

Hope this helps.

Another quickie what setting do i have to use if i want my email to notify me of new mail in the same way a text does. ive tried playing with the automatic retreval and i cant gte it to work? how often does the mail app serch for mail?

snuge wrote:oops i over looked it i know the answer. sorry guys

Whats the answer? Because i could only ever get my e-mail to work the first time, every other time after that it gave me a stupid error where it wouldnt accept my password, even though it had originally, but if it could do it automatically it might work..

I tried auto retrieval but it didnt work

ok go to email settings then select your mailbox then go to automatic retrieval. disable email notifications and enable e mail retrieval. it then should give you a few more options, retrieval days, retrival houurs and retrival interval

Interesting. Just wondering if anyone has a Three branded handset and has manage to receive pushed emails using the nokia email application as apposed to Threes 3mail app. i only ask as i couldnt get it working and was wondering if its a three network thing or not.

I'm on 3 as well. Had nothing but problems with email, seems to work when it feels like, but not on any day with a 'y' in it...

Doesn't matter how I set it up, it always works fine at first, then randomly changes the settings. Don't know if it's a 3 thing or a Nokia thing.

Hoping the new 2.0 firmware solves a lot of these kind of problems - that is, if 3 release it! They were quick off the mark with v11 but v12 is nowhere to be found.

So, have you managed to get the inbuilt nokia messaging to push your emails to your handset or are you using 3mail.

I tried to set up my pop3 account with nokia messaging but i got a message from three saying i needed to set up an email account to start receiving emails. I managed to get 1 email pushed to my handset using nokia messaging but it just stopped working after that so i reverted back to Threes 3mail.

The only reason i ask is that Threes email software is ugly and totally user unfriendly when compared to nokias built in email editor.

It could be a Three firmware branding thing but im not sure. Tis a pain as i dont get 3G coverage at home so a wifi connection would be ideal but as im using 3mail, thats not an option.
