I'm trying to find a way to sync my Nokia N97 calendar with my Macbook Pro.
Through Google, I can sync the calendar on the laptop with my Google calendar, but also want to get the N97 calendar in on the action.
For you Mac users, you will know iSync does not yet support the N97, so but stumped as to the other options. Did try and follow some instructions to set up Mail for Exchange to sync with Google, followed all of Google's instructions, but still can't get the phone to connect.
Any idea's of troubleshooting MfE or are there any other alternatives for the N97 and a Mac?
Cheer.
Well folks you can now breathe a sigh of relief and relax....
Mail for Exchange worked the last time I tried it, no idea what I did differently, will have to try and work it out, but it has synced my contacts and calendar with Google, and that in turns syncs with my Macbook Pro. Bit of a long way round, will hope that iSync will come with a plug in soon ( after the latest FW upgrade ? )

Searching would've found it for you 😉
Hi,
Yes I know you did and I was trying for ages to get it to work, it was the thread titled iSync for N97. I did thank you for doing such an extensive write up. Followed the instructions, and got the Address Book to sync ( after problems downloading plist editor! ) .
Where I have having problems, was getting MfE to work properly, Followed your instructions and also those from Google Sync, but for some reason, the phone would not connect, had to try at least five / six times to get it to work. As I said, I don't what I ddi differently, but now it is working and syncing calendars with Google Calendar , iCal and N97 calendar, so thanks again for the help.
I was able to find a copy of the N97-compliant version of MfE on Nokia-For-Business' website (version 2.09.176).
I was able to set it up and access my company email from the Exchange server with no problems, BUT...
Unlike the other email settings in the default Messaging application, where you can set alerts on or off for each mailbox, there doesn't seem to be any way to turn off message alerts for MfE.
I've been through all the settings, but can't find anything.
Considering that I sometimes get 200+ emails a day at work (remarkably ALL work-related!) I'd rather not have my phone making a lot of racket.
Does anyone know where I can set this to not be chiming all the time? :con?
Err.. Interesting.. NEver knew you can do Google sync with MfE.. but wow..
Maybe Google does have Exchange servers in the backend and that they are really in bed with Micro$oft? 😊
