i bought a n73 off of ebay it arived last week and ive tryed a number of sims in it but it always says sim registration failed and there is no signal so i did an imei check and its not blocked so im stuck any help greatly appreated thanks

It might be a branded phone : with SIM-lock . The lock is sold by the original provider , like T-Mobile , O2 , VF or some other company , that likes to lock phones to their own network .
In this case you need a subscription from the original provider . Or you can ask them for the code to unlock . This is only a question of time .
The third possibility is to debrand the phone . Search this forum or the w.w.w.
