5800 memory card installs

Installing apps (or games) to memory card keeps the C: drive usage low and thus gives you more free RAM.

Usually, you get the choice of where to install.

However, when an app can only be installed in one location, usually the installer simply does not ask you where you want to install.

I think in your example, the game installer is a bit buggy, so just be resigned that you must install this one item into phone memory and not the memory card.

I am also on V30FW and have never had a problem installing to Memory Card (when the installer gives a choice), so unless your problem starts happening with lots of installers, don't worry about it.

It`s every game I try.
It all started when the game icons and some apps got a little yellow key symbal next to them.
They wouldn`t open so I reformatted the sd card and phone and from then on
could only install games to the phone memory. Apps install to memory card fine, just not games

I assume when you say Games you mean JAD/JAR files (Java apps)? I don't think I have any Java apps installed on my phone.

As you have already tried formatting both the internal memory and memory card, I am a bit stumped as to what to try next.

Are these games causing you problems with too little free internal memory or is there another reason you want them moved to the memory card?

Yes they are Java apps.
They aren`t causing problems, just wanted to know why they only install on the phone memory and not the sd card.
ANy clues what the little yellow keys were?

If you have formatted internal memory and the Memory Card has/had Java apps installed, I think the icon gets lost and the app is displayed a key symbol
