The phone is a dog.
Turned it on as I left the house this morning with the aim of listening to the radio. Not much to ask.
The phone booted and I selected the radio from the home screen widget - got just a blank screen. Nothing happened.
Turned the phone off. Re-booted but the same thing happened.
Turned the phone off. Took the battery out and re-inserted. Re-booted. The same thing happened. This time I just persisted, and tried to kill the app which didn't work for the first couple of attempts, but eventually did.
After a total of 20 minutes of trying, the radio worked!
It really shouldn't be this hard! 😃
20 minute boot up? - that'll be part of the microsoft collaboration...
😮
I did think that actually!
Do you think that once the home screen comes on the phone is in fact still booting and will therefore be unresponsive?
I don't know symbian well enough to comment, but I'd assume that as with windows the GUI will appear before all the background services have finished starting and as a result could be unresponsive...

"Hey! It looks like you are trying to do a hard reset! Would you like some help?"

hi! This is a known bug. Nokia just can not identify under what circumstancers this happens. On 11...firmware only hard reset helped.however since 12..you can do as follows.: take of the external memcard if appl. Connect your phone to the external charger and hold the power button until your phone boots correctly. For some white phones you also have to remove your simcard and then follow the a.m. procedure.
