I notice there are no members from Australia listed, so I am glad to join!
I have just ordered a 9210 (about $A1650 here) and your page has alerted me that there is a 9210 and a 9210i. I also read about a 9290 which I have never heard of.
I have had a 9110i for about 18 months- nice but limited.
What should I make sure I get - a 9210i ?? with what version software???

G'day! User posted image

The 9210i hasn't been released yet, but it's basically a step closer to what the 9210 should have been.

The 9290 is the 9210i for Americans which, again, is yet to be released.

I hope this helps!

Thankyou TankerX,

I guess that I should wait for the 9210i model. Does anyone have any ideas of a release date? Anywhere?

Hey Ralph. Im in Perth Australia. I bought my 9210 in November after waiting 6 months for it to come out. I found they kept pushing the release date back every month. If that is anything to go by it think it will be released here by the end of the year. If you could hang out that long it would probably be worth it. But then again the difference in price between the two models may not be worth the cost just to get a bit more ram etc

Cheers
Ian

Thanks Ian,
I also am from Perth, however currently posted to the east with the Army. I am not likely to pay $1650 for something that could be an old model in 6 months.
Loved the 9110i and am very keen to update, but I will get by for 6 months as I really need the GPS function and the i model displays raster.
Regards,

I am a proud owner of a 9210. I have taken great pleasure in maximizing its dual use by downloading the ebook program. However, i am frustrated by the fact that the phone does not display the name of the caller when it comes through even if the names matching the number are in the sim card or the device memory. Further, it has a tendency to flash phonebook entries when not in use for an extended period. Is there anyway to substitute this with the screensaver similar to the nokia 3310. Anyway, I've enjoyed this site immensely and i expect to visit this very often.
