hi everyone, i have this question about Emame. I installed Emame in my P800 and I did download the roms from the web. but when i try to start up a game and it says "missing files and press any key", what do i do? 😮 and where do i find " the folder called ROMS under Document;" at? thank u

w/ file manager i think in the c/ drive, sorry can't help you have the same problem and have asked this forum three times with no answers.
i also get the message missing files and i know i have the right roms instaled. Hope we'll get answers
still can't wait to play pacman

EMAME is produced from Mame .37b, and the current mame version is around .64... So most of the roms on the net are .64 roms (which is allmost a year -maybe more- newer than .37)

So you need older roms (for the roms that have changed - not all)

Most probably this is the reason you are getting these errors...

where do u suggest I should get .37b version of ROMs from? most of them don't work!

Get all the rom files from www.mame.dk and remember to get all the split clone set as it may contain some or part of the game rom file that you needs.
The reason why you have a missing file is because almost all the romset posted on the web site are in split rom format. Because in their PC counterpart, the emulator itself will actually combine the rom file from other clone set before running the game. So, you've to get them all and combine it yourself. In other words, get a standalone format not the split rom image. By the way the latest version for PC is MAME0.66.

thank you, bro. ii understand that, but i'm using a mac. can i do that in a macmame?

You needs two files in order to get PACMAN to run. PACMAN.ZIP and PUCKMAN.ZIP as some of the file needed by PACMAN in reside in PUCKMAN. If you're lazy than just combine this two into one file and named it as PACMAN. This will solve your problem.

Good to know that you got it working. The same thing aply to all other games. Enjoy your game.
mame.dk has had all the ROMS removed ages ago
Actually all the roms are still there, they just dont advertise the fact (they do the opposite and say they dont have them).
Just sign up, log in and download.

Regarding pacman, I am having problems. I have downloaded pacman.zip and puckman.zip.

The roms information gives this :

Archive status: size of archive: 12.02 kB
Uses roms from: puckman
pacman.5e: 0c944964 4096 In puckman.zip
pacman.5f: 958fedf9 4096 In puckman.zip
82s123.7f: 2fc650bd 32 In puckman.zip
82s126.4a: 3eb3a8e4 256 In puckman.zip
82s126.1m: a9cc86bf 256 In puckman.zip
82s126.3m: 77245b66 256 In puckman.zip
pacman.6e: c1e6ab10 4096 In pacman.zip
pacman.6f: 1a6fb2d4 4096 In pacman.zip
pacman.6h: bcdd1beb 4096 In pacman.zip
pacman.6j: 817d94e3 4096 In pacman.zip

However the files I have contain none of the above files,

Pacman.zip contains :
kinst.txt
u10-l1
u11-l1
u12-l1
u13-l1
u33-l1
u34-l1
u35-l1
u36-l1
u98-l14

Puckman.zip contains :
detatwin.txt
060_i02.rom
060_i03.rom
060_i09.rom
060_i10.rom

Actually there is something really wierd going on here, I have tried downloading the same files several times, each time I click on the link it seems to download a different zipped file, with a different filesize and containing different files.

Can someone please help, I have been struggling with this for hours.
