Screen stops responding randomly.

Sometimes when i turn on my device or bring it out of standby/lock mode the physical keys work fine but the screen would not respond at all. i have to shut down to get it to work again but even restarting and removing battery doesnt always work. eventually the screen comes back to life by itself. random things trigger this malfunction. once when i plugged headphones and the screen did that. it happens DAILY and often when i take it out of my pocket. maybe pressure on the screen causes that or the screen gets stuck somehow... anyone had it happen to them? Any idea what it is and how to prevent it from happening?

I've been complaining from v10, v11 and v12 about a 5-8 second screen "FREEZE" in many applications. It's not that the processor stops its just the screen freezes, doesn't update and doesn't respond to the touchscreen or any keys.

My N97 is a NAM version (RM-507). I have AT&T as my provider and have Facebook and Accuweather confirmed as live homescreen widgets. I also have the Messaging configuration to pull two email accounts once-an-hour. I have the Web application to pull 10 RSS Feeds (2 hourly, 1 every four hours and the rest once-a-day).

For the v12 update I did a "four-finger-salute" FACTORY RESET and then configured everything from scratch again. The problem has not gone away.

There has to be some task in the OS executive which is causing this.

Yeah, I hope Nokia is aware of it and will fix in the next update. I can't have this happening when I try to record people's numbers or something important. Its quite an issue.

I still think its due to screen pressure or maybe pressing side buttons and screen at the same time somehow bc it happens so often when i take it out of my pocket. do u use mobbler a lot? Could be a related task bc it often does it when i leave the player in my pocket while listening to mobbler. it could also be headphones cuz my screen locked up like that a few times immediately after headphone insertion.
