I use Xplore as a file browser on my N97..
Now I opened it this morning to clear up my cache en dmgr folder because of the shitty processor and RAM memory Nokia thought could run this beautiful phone.
But to my surprise I suddenly had a D drive with some files in it but still a hundred procent empty according to Xplore(about 53mb) and a Z drive which has allot of files in it but no empty nor filled space according to Xplore..
Does anyone know where the hell these drives came from? I installed Paint Pad(through this site BTW) and I installed Sygic before Paint Pad but removed it..
I also installed a couple of games which I removed again and I can't imagine it having something to do with this.. but my imagining doesn't mean much or I wouldn't be asking this question here would I 😉

The D-drive is a RAM disk (a disk emulated in memory, intended for temporary storage). Anything written there will disappear when you power off the phone.
The Z-drive is the ROM (Read-Only Memory) where Symbian, S60 and ROM-based presinstalled applications live. Unwritable (except via firmware flashing procedure).
Oke, so where did they come from all of a sudden? I opened Xplore a thousand times and never came across these drives..
When X-Plore is launched . Menu > Tools > Settings (shortcut G in qwerty) . (De) Select system folders/files .
When you do some more explore in X-Plore you will find many Options like Hide/Unhide etc.

Oke, so it's just caused by the fact I changed my the settings which determine how deep you want to go into the files which are placed on the drives that are available..
Because I did change these settings but that was about a week ago and between now and then I opened Xplore allot of times..
I love Xplore, especially since the filebrowser on the N97 sucks ass! I wouldn't know what to do if I didn't have Xplore
